Discover the Maine you can only see from the water… Watch the working lobster boats, see the large Maine windjammers under sail, look for sea birds (including eagles), and porpoise playing in the bay. The sights and sounds of Penobscot Bay will delight and relax you. Capt. Bex has over 35 years of sailing experience, and narrates each trip. You'll learn a little about lobstering, see and hear some history of the large estates along the coast and out on the islands, and find out how the "Betselma" got her name. Children (and adults) are invited to steer the boat when conditions permit it. We've received photos of second generation kids at the wheel of the "Betselma"...which goes to show you that once you've come out with us, you'll likely be back again and again. You'll be able to see up to 3 different lighthouses on your trip. Curtis Island Light is seen on both the 1 & 2 hour trips as we leave Camden Harbor for the bay. Indian Island Lighthouse is seen on the 1 hour coastal cruise, and Grindle point Lighthouse is seen on the 2 hour island cruise. Both trips can be combined for a wonderful 3 hour trip! Spend the morning...or the afternoon on beautiful Penobscot Bay. If you're a lighthouse buff be sure to tell the Capt. and he'll get a little closer so you can get those perfect lighthouse photos!
